CHS Raises Cancer Awareness
CHS Raises Cancer Awareness
Cancer Awareness Pep RallyCHS took advantage of the excitement around an important game-week against Southside, Gadsden to focus on another big battle: the fight against cancer. CHS students, faculty and staff came together to show their support for those currently fighting cancer and cancer survivors. Information was shared with students throughout the week about cancer. T-shirts were available for purchase. The pep rally featured a PURPLE theme to recognize the battle against all types of cancer. Two hundred purple balloons were released to recognize our special guests at the pep rally who are cancer survivors or still fighting the battle, as well as all of those in our community. All money raised during fund raising activities will be donated to the American Cancer Society. We are proud of our students and their willingness to support such a worthy cause.

Below is the video that was shown before the pep rally on Friday.  Erica Ball, cheer coach, shares information about the event.  Also, Coach Jonathan Hayes is interviewed by Abbie Kate Hancock about the impact of this event.
